About the Artist

Who She is, & What Makes Her Unique

Alexandra Lee Mazzola is a self-taught, freelance and commission artist based in Lake Mary, Florida. At 30 years old, she creates from the heart—with brushstrokes guided by emotion, wonder, and a quiet strength shaped by her life with disabilities and autism. Through her art, Alexandra invites others into the way she sees the world: filled with light, beauty, and meaning, that can often get overlooked. Her work is more than expression—it is a bridge, offering new perspectives and moments of hope. With every piece, she seeks to inspire, uplift, and leave a soft, lasting impact on those who pause to look closer and see. With this, they are better able to rediscover the wonder and light woven into the world around us.

What Inspires Her to Create

Alexandra is deeply inspired by the quiet things—the way sunlight filters through trees, the emotion in a single glance, the stillness between words. She finds beauty in the overlooked, in moments of softness and vulnerability. She is a strong believer that taking some time out in nature can truly help uplift your mood and spirits. Living with autism allows her to experience the world with heightened sensitivity; noticing colors, patterns, movement, and feelings that others might not see. That lens fuels her creativity.

Sunrises & sunsets stir something deep within her. Each sunset whispers the promise of a new beginning, gently closing one chapter to make space for the next. And with every sunrise comes a moment to pause, to breathe, and to truly see the beauty that surrounds us. They remind her that no matter how dark the night may feel, the light will always return—and so can we. Just like the sun, we, too, have the strength to rise again.

Where it All Started

Alexandra has been creating art for as long as she can remember. As a young girl, art became her safe space—a quiet form of expression when words felt out of reach. Through each sketch and brushstroke, she found a voice; a way to connect when social communication felt challenging. What began as a personal refuge slowly blossomed into something bigger. In 2011, she received her first commission—a moment that changed everything. That single request became a spark, showing her that what she creates, could resonate with others. It gave her the confidence to believe in her gift. Seven years later, in 2018, she officially registered her art business in Florida, stepping fully into the path she was always meant to walk.

“I try to spread hope, positivity, and joy through my artwork, so people see that there is always light within the darkness. My main purpose in this life that I have been given as an artist, is to help make people come out of their darkness and know in their hearts that joy will always find its way into their life after any difficult time…”

Using Art As Her Own Form of Healing:

Art has always been a form of emotional release for Alexandra, allowing the mind to relieve any and all stress, and has given her the ability to develop new relationships, become a better communicator, make a difference in peoples' lives, and help her personally with her own healing, emotional growth and well-being. This, in return, has given her the skills to pursue her career in Art Therapy further, helping her spread more hope for others that may need to overcome any challenges or struggles, including ones that she can relate to and has learned to overcame.

Her Future Goals

With experience in participation at numerous local art shows, craft fairs all around Connecticut and Florida, and being featured in various online exhibitions, she cannot wait to one day have her own art studio, and expand her services and business into one that is well-known across the world.

She is very eager and excited to share her services to children and adults all over the world, by offering virtual and in-person group and individual art lessons for all ages, family & friend paint parties, and lastly, therapeutic, healing & expressive arts groups that will grow into art therapy sessions once she becomes a licensed Art Therapist.

This will allow her to continue to make a huge positive difference in this world, and fulfill her true purpose.
